Near Infrared Sensor to Determine Carbon Dioxide Gas Based on Ionic Liquid

چکیده
In this study we present an NIR carbon dioxide gas sensor based on inner filter process that includes ionic liquid (IL), 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate (EMIMBF4), to improve its stability, dynamic behavior and lifetime, which are usually the main drawbacks with these sensors. The presence of CO2 causes a displacement simple boron-dipyrromethene-type fluorophore, azaBODIPY, as pH indicator towards acid form. This increases emission intensity Cr(III)-doped gadolinium aluminium borate (GAB) luminophore. characterization prepared was carried out discussion results is presented. response recovery times improved considerably, 23 49 s, respectively, respect without IL, at 60 120 respectively,. Additionally, measurement range extended when using able in case measure complete up 100% CO2; IL limited 60% CO2. detection limit ranges from 0.57% 0.26% added. useful lifetime sensing membrane 20 days for membranes only 6 always kept dark need maintain special atmosphere.

متن کاملSignificant Cation Effects in Carbon Dioxide–Ionic Liquid Systems
Carbon dioxide-ionic liquid systems are of great current interest, and significant efforts have been made lately to understand the intermolecular interactions in these systems. In general, all the experimental and theoretical studies have concluded so far that the main solute-solvent interaction takes effect through the anion, and the cation has no, or only a secondary role in solvation. In thi...
متن کاملIonic fluids: charge and density correlations near gas-liquid criticality.
The correlation functions of an ionic fluid with charge and size asymmetry are studied within the framework of the random phase approximation. The results obtained for the charge-charge correlation function demonstrate that the second-moment Stillinger-Lovett (SL) rule is satisfied away from the gas-liquid critical point (CP) but not, in general, at the CP. However, in the special case of a mod...

Biogas methane content is a relevant variable in anaerobic digestion processing where knowledge of process kinetics or an early indicator of digester failure is needed. The contribution of this work is the development of a novel, simple and low cost automatic carbon dioxide-methane gas sensor based on the solubility of gases in water as the precursor of a sensor for biogas quality monitoring. T...
